Maui Photography at Makena Secret Beach
If your soon going to be spending your days in Maui, then no doubt your doing your homework. Spending countless hours online researching what to see in Maui is important. That’s a great way to plan your vacation before you come so you dont waste time on Maui. If you love whales, come now! Its an incredible site to see Humpback Whales breaching so close to the shore! Whale season is from Dec 15th-April 15th. If you want your chances to be high to see them, come in Feb-March when they are everywhere!
What to do on Maui ?

* Snorkel – Take a boat to the crater, Molokini off Maui. If you prefer not to ride on a boat the best Snorkeling on Maui is at Honolua Bay, West Maui.
*Zipline -There’s several different companies. My favorite is Skyline. Go to www.zipline.com to check them out.
*Go to a Luau (My favorite Luau is at Grand Wailea its right on the ocean. Theres delicious food & the best fire dancer in the world! Its a fantastic show at Grand Wailea)
What to see in Maui?
*Sunrise at Haleakala crater
*Take a day and drive the Road to Hana. Do not rush this trip! Its not about getting to Hana its about the drive there. Its a rain forest drive full of greenery and waterfalls!
*Hike in Hana – See the gorgeous Maui Waterfalls, bamboo forest, black sand beach, red sand beach, lava tube, eucalyptus trees (also known as rainbow tress) and of course mosquito’s! But dont worry about snakes while hiking! There are no predators on the Island! You may feel like your in a jungle but there are no predators that will harm you. The best kind of hiking!
*Iao Valley
*Drive around the West Maui Mountains. Also look for the blow hole & Olivine Pools.
Romantic things to do in Maui
*Walk on the Beach at Sunset
* Relax at Maui’s best beaches
* A Spa date at Grand Wailea (Even though they separate Men & Woman, you can still be enjoying the same things at The Grand- Spa Grande, Scrub, Massage, & more! Grand Wailea is an incredible Resort. There’s delicious restaurants such as Humu’s and great pools too.)
*Dinner at Mamas Fish House (My favorite fine dinning Restaurant)
*Grab a bottle of wine and lay out together on the beach at night. Take it all in- the sound of the ocean and watch the stars together.
*Maui Photography – If you are a couple on your honeymoon, anniversary, or just taking a Hawaiian vacation together this is one of the best things you can get for yourself! If your staying at a Resort in Kaanapali you can have your Maui Wedding there. However it is against the law to have any Professional Photography on the Beach in Kaanapali. I tell Brides in that case we can start out at the Resort Grounds for Photography and then drive to a beach either North or South.

The Grand Wailea, Wailea Hawaii | Polly & Zach
Polly and Zach contacted me to do a honeymoon photo shoot. They were just recently married in Oklahoma and were very excited to come to Maui for their honeymoon! They were staying at The Grand Wailea, the perfect Resort for Maui Photography. I LOVE this hotel! We started at the Maui Waterfalls at the entrance. They were so in love and it showed! I LOVE photographing couples just recently married. Its so easy to set them up in poses because its all still fresh in their mind from their Wedding. We then went through the hotel photographing at the fountains, gazebo, and walked down to Wailea Beach. It was very important to Polly to capture the beauty of the Island in her Maui pictures. I had so much fun capturing their love on the beach at a Maui sunset. I edited her portraits and she previewed them and absolutely loved them all!! She loved to have her love documented at the Grand Wailea and Wailea Beach. Heres a taste of our photo shoot.

Grand Wailea Wedding
This beautiful couple flew into Maui for their wedding at the Grand Wailea. They had been married for several years but wanted to renew their love for each other in Maui. They gave each other such love at their vow renewal that took place at the Waldorf Astoria Wailea. Their two beautiful children were there for this special occasion. Their Maui Wedding took place under a gazebo with the enchanting music of the harp playing. Then they released two white doves together. Their Wailea Wedding finished with cake and wine. Of all the Maui Wedding Cakes, this one tasted one of the best! (Or so I heard) Their Maui Wedding Cake did look wonderful. After all the Wedding events took place, it was time for their Maui Photography. Heres a few of my favs. Congrats you both! Enjoy your Maui Photography at The Grand Wailea.

Grand Wailea – Maui Family Photographer
Heres a slide show of the great Benton Family at the Grand Wailea. They were so much fun. I’m so happy they love their Maui Photography! While photographing them it helped me to remember to enjoy each moment with the people you love. Its so easy to take your loved ones forgranted, assuming they will always be there. However thats just not the case. My dear family live far away from Maui and I miss just dropping in on then anytime just to chat. Enjoy every moment we have with our loved ones. Love Deep. Love Much. They have beautiful waterfalls and lots of palm trees for the perfect Maui family portraits. The hotel is located just north of Lahaina. Westin Maui Resort and Spa is in Kaanapali. Maui Family Photographer- The Grand Wailea
I was so excited when Tracey contacted me to capture Maui Beach Pictures of her family. They live on Oahu and were flying over and staying at The Grand Wailea. I absolutely love that Hotel! Its my favorite hotel in Wailea. Really The Grand Wailea Maui is my favorite hotel on Island. So we set up their Photo Shoot at the Grande Wailea. As soon as I met the Benton family, I knew I would love them! They are a great family with terrific kids! So we started at the Maui Waterfalls for their Maui Photography. The Westin in Maui is a lovely hotel with several Maui Waterfalls. Its a great kid friendly hotel. If your looking for a must do in Maui, you have come to the right place! When you have left the Island you will feel Maui pulling you back! Theres no other place in the world like it. If you take advantage of having Maui Photography while on vacation, you will cherish it! Mark & Zeah wanted some Maui Family Portraits with their beautiful daughter Abigail. It was a good thing their friend, is a Maui Family Photographer. I was happy when they called to book a session. We met up an early morning to take beach pictures. For all those families out there with young kids, morning sessions are best. They are more cooperative and awake in the morning. We met at a beautiful beach in Makena, South Maui. The beach was perfect with no one on it. Its so important to know what beach location to go to for lighting & without crowds. Maui Beach Silhouette
All my friends know I love surprises-being surprised & surprising others. So I loved it when Geraldine called me and wanted to surprise her husband Alberto for their 1 year anniversary! She wanted to have a Maui Photographer capture their love. What a great gift! At sunset we drove to Makenas Secret Beach. This is a very special place for them. Their Wedding on Maui was here a year before. So it brought back beautiful memories of their Maui Wedding. Here is one of my favorite shots @ sunset.

Adalyn- Child Photography by Maui Photographer
I visited family in Missouri just as spring arrived and it was a perfect time for photographs. The flowers were blooming and the spring colors were out. My sister Jessica needed a portrait session of her youngest daughter, Adalyn. It was a good thing her sister, a Maui Photographer was in town. 
I had fun chasing my little 3 year old niece around trying to get some good shots. We went to Neosho’s Big Spring Park and had some fun! These are a few of my favorites. Be prepared for some heart melting! Enjoy!
